Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities (HCBDD) Help Me Grow (HMG) home visiting program focuses on a baby’s early experiences as they are the building blocks that shape how the brain is built and create the foundation for success in life.
The Help Me Grow program serves families prenatal to age five.
It is a home visiting program that is voluntary and provides family support, education and advocacy for pregnant women, parents, and caregivers who are determined eligible.
Help Me Grow services are offered in every county of Ohio and the HCBDD provides this service in three counties: Adams, Brown, and Highland. HMG is funded by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth.
Each year, HCBDD serves around 100-150 children in the program. HCBDD collaborates with the Butler County Educational Service Center to help promote the program in Adams, Brown, and Highland Counties.
The home visiting team continues to partner with the Early Intervention (EI) team in Highland County and the Early HeadStart program in Adams and Brown County to help promote social development through play groups. The HCBDD Help Me Grow home visiting team consists of five home visitors, one supervisor and one program manager.
